The HP50 G keyboard Key time is 1/6 of a second. What this means is that if you press two keys within 1/6 of a second only one will register. So if you type 3456 very fast you may get only 346 on the display. However there is a way around this. The default for key time is about 1300. You simply decrease this to about 400. I.e. go to RPN mode type 400then enter “Keytime. In algebraic mode you simple enter >keytime (400).
You can also set up a keystroke as a start up default by creating a program i.e. “<<400>>Keytime>>”Store it is home directory as a file named “startup”. Power down and reboot which will cause Startup to be executed.
